After
following a rounded curriculum at the Schola Cantorum of Paris, in the
period instruments class, Marianne Muller continued her studies
with Wieland Kuijken at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague (Netherlands),
where she was awarded her soloists diploma. Since then she has pursued
a concert career, and her skills as both soloist and chamber musician
have taken her to Europe, the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Israel, and
as far afield as India. She has been heard in such renowned festivals as Bruges, Saintes, Sablé, and Utrecht, playing with ensembles like La Chapelle Royale, Ensemble Gradiva, Hespèrion XX, and Les Nièces de Rameau. She also founded the Ensemble Khôra. A qualified teacher of early music,Marianne Muller is now a professor at the Conservatoire NationalSupérieur de Musique et de Danse in Lyon. Her growing interest in contemporary music has led her to perform a number of works of our own time. She has also taken part in several staged performances blending text and music, including three new productions with the actress Catherine Thérouenne, and in this context is a member of the ensemble Docteur Lully et Mister Haydn. Mariane Muller has recorded for Stil, Harmonia Mundi, Le Chant du Monde, and more especially for Universal, with a Marin Marais recital and a complete recording of the sonatas of J. S. Bach. |
