Cyril Auvity is being hailed as « the » rising young tenor on lyrical scenes.
His Télémaque in « Return of Ulysse » of Monteverdi conducted by William Christie at Aix-en-Provence in 2001, was a true revelation for Cyril Auvity. He discovered the baroque repertoire, is own tenor voice leading him to counter-tenor and the French music of the « Grand Siècle ». He will then be booked for many opera productions with C. Rousset, H. Niquet, F. Lasserre, E. Haim, Malgoire...
Always attracted to french music, he founds in 2003 his group : Yriade with whom he prepared this projects of French cantatas related to Orfeo.
Zig-Zag Territoires got the chance to know Cyril Auvity’s voice qualities and musical inspiration thanks to several recordings with Akadêmia (Selva Morale e Spirituale de Monteverdi, la Morte d’Orfeo de Landi) and recently with Gérard Lesne in Charpentier.
We wish to launch Cyril Auvity on Orfeo’s myth through unknown cantatas of Clérambault & Rameau together with court airs discovered at the French National Librairy BNF.
